At Rentop, we are currently preparing for the coming season with new recruitments and training programmes. Construction sites and industrial projects are expected to start at full speed again once the snow has melted. Today, we employ more than 150 lifting professionals and specialists. During the past few years, international business has become the backbone of Rentop. We will continue to grow internationally this year as well. In 2025, we reorganised our company. This has given us even better capabilities to operate as one of the leading companies in the lifting industry – for both our employees and our clients.
Tomi Laaksola, CEO
Special expertise in lifting – across Europe
Rentop provides experienced crane operators and lifting specialists for industrial and construction projects across Europe – and further when needed. Almost all crane companies in Finland and many abroad are our clients.
“Last year, most of our clients’ projects were in Sweden and elsewhere in Europe. We work flexibly wherever lifting professionals are needed. Sometimes this means international crane companies’ projects in Finland. Sometimes it means projects abroad for our Finnish clients,” says Laaksola.
Growth requires continuous development
Project-based work is in Rentop’s DNA. Over the years, we have worked in projects within the metal industry, forest industry, bio and energy industry, wind power industry, and construction industry across Europe.
Fast growth and international operations have helped us develop our daily processes – from both the client’s and the employee’s point of view.
“In 2025, we reorganised our operations. Our goal is to be among the best companies in the lifting industry – in the eyes of both employees and clients. This requires continuous development alongside growth,” Laaksola reminds.

Top professionals from one place
Rentop operates machines from telehandlers to the largest crawler cranes on the market. As demand increases, the industry needs new professionals.
The lifting industry is moving towards a model where a highly skilled personnel resource is provided from one specialist partner. The traditional model – where each crane company employs its own operators – is slowly disappearing.
Internationally, this network-based model is already common. Rentop has been a pioneer in bringing this new way of working also to Finland.
Heavy lifting capacity requires strong expertise
Crane sizes continue to grow in the lifting industry. Larger mobile cranes will play an even bigger role in the future of construction and industrial projects.
The reason is simple. Industrial components are now manufactured as large modules. These are transported to sites, such as power plants, as special transports. This requires heavy lifting capacity. And heavy lifting capacity requires even higher professional lifting management.
“We continuously train new mobile crane operators, both independently and together with educational institutions and our clients. Training is organised throughout the year based on demand. If you are interested in the crane industry or advancing your career, get in touch,” says Laaksola.
A gateway to the crane industry
Our operators come from many different backgrounds. Whatever your experience, a good crane operator needs calmness, good judgement, initiative, and communication skills. The work is varied – sometimes challenging.
Previous experience is not always required. The right attitude matters most. The lifting industry offers many roles where a crane operator certificate is not required.
“We want our employees to stay with us for a long time. At Rentop, you can influence your own career development,” Laaksola says.
Salary is based on the job role and responsibilities. The work requires travelling, but it also offers good earning potential and the opportunity to see the world together with some of the largest lifting companies in the industry. Working hours are rarely 8–16. We work when the project requires it.
“If operating heavy machinery interests you, send in your application. Let’s see what kind of opportunities we can offer you,” Laaksola says.
